The Child Life Department helps to provide a positive hospital experience for children needing care. It helps children relieve tension, express concerns and fears and experience a sense of control over their environment. Playrooms and the Teen Zone provide a place to have fun, safe, supportive play and social interaction. Play helps with development and makes being in the hospital less disruptive to any child’s life. It is especially important during long hospitalizations or when a child has to be isolated for medical reasons.
